The era of AI brings huge possibilities. New frontiers are opened daily in disease prevention, knowledge sharing, leisure, pleasure and purpose.
Yet at the same time the spectre of mis-handling this most powerful technology looms - and with it potentially awful consequences for marginalized communities, for our planet and its ecosystems, and for planetary-scale suffering, especially among the most vulnerable human and animal lives.
Electric Sheep exists to raise awareness of these often neglected dangers - and empower more of us, especially our talented young people and those in the global majority, to take charge and build the solutions.
We’re a global movement building and researching AI that supports the most vulnerable - and championing the things we care about. Our vision is of a world of secure and compassionate AI that boosts the welfare of our planet, its ecosystems, its communities, human and animal life.
We do this through learning, collaboration and building - empowering people just like you to create change-making projects in these areas - and taking you along a pathway from idea to impact; project to investment pitch.
When you take one of our courses, jump on one of our hackathons, or take part in one of our accelerators, you join a community of social entrepreneurs, AI builders, researchers and system-changers. Electric Sheep in their thousands come from all over the world, an incredible movement of AI for good.

A new generation rising
We’re growing fast - though given how fast AI is accelerating we know we need to grow faster still! We were conceived during the BlueDot Impact AI governance course and as part of the Kickstarting for Good Accelerator as a ‘pro-welfare’, AI suffering-risk mitigating learning intervention. 7000 data points later and it became clear that there was a necessity, not only for reflection and research but also for upskilling and mentoring into the pathways that enable us to build and ship a better future, one prototype at a time.
Our first Futurekind fellowship cohort took place in early 2025 uniting 120 fellows across 14 time-zones in AI for good. They delivered 35 highly commended projects, many prototypes taken forward for further mentorship and development. At the same time we launched our first Bay Area Code 4 Compassion, where 81 coders developed 16 animal advocacy AI prototypes, with an even higher count of developers moving forward from that experience into paid work in AI for impact while building impactful innovations and AI tools.
Since then we've been developing our work with a focus on supporting the builders, thinkers and workers of a new global generation of AI for good.
We know that it’s not only in Silicon Valley or Europe where AI for good happens. We scour the world for the doers and builders, those whose talents can support the causes we care about.
Our courses and hackathons diversify the often staid monocultures of AI development and AI safety, harnessing civic building and development traditions in Asia, South America and beyond. That’s why our first bricks-and-mortar Campus incubator is in Bangalore - and why we’ll continue to build at scale within global majority countries.
Now, we’re scaling Futurekind rapidly, running Code for Compassions all over the world, from US, to Europe to right across the Global South where pools of AI for good potential lie untapped, taking our research into our most influential institutions, and building pioneer Incubators in places where they can make a real difference. A clear, bright future of safe, compassionate AI is in our grasp…
Shaping and Shipping the future
We who care about a better AI future know that talking about it is no longer enough; we need to get building. Shippable product that reorients AI towards the neglected and the vulnerable is what we need. Ideas taken to market and deployment that shift the current trajectory of development not in word but in deed.
That’s why our imminent future programs include an impact investment-focused Campus for fellows and coders to develop promising, highly impactful prototypes to enterprise-level applications and developing in yet more depth our course and fellowship offerings.
