We’re passionate about AI that protects our planet, its communities and all its sentient life

Three people are standing and talking in front of a white wall with a projected graphic that reads 'Code 4 Compassion London 2025' with an outline of London landmarks and a ferris wheel. The group includes a man with glasses and long hair tied back, a woman with curly hair, and a bald man. They appear engaged in a conversation at a conference or event.

We are Electric Sheep. Our vision is of a world of secure and safe AI that boosts the welfare of our planet, its ecosystems, its communities and species.

Our learners in their thousands come from all over the world, an incredible movement of effective compassionate AI advocacy and tech for good. We exist to help them level up their impact in a like-minded community, emphasizing learning and collaboration and change.

Their projects cluster around key impact areas including animal protection, AI safety with a welfare focus, compassionate AI policy, research and building demos and prototypes of AI-for-welfare applications.

Our global community is where the magic happens. Together we upskill, collaborate, connect and build. What drives impact beyond the countless droves of off-the-shelf AI courses out there are the relationships formed within our impact community, that turn hundreds of projects into sustained, interventions bonded by common endeavour and commitment.

So if you’re an NGO or government worker looking to understand the possibilities of AI; a coder seeking impact; a researcher making AI safer for ecosystems and species as well as people; or just someone who’s intrigued by AI and wants to make it go well: we’ll give you the tools, the understanding and the collaborators you need to help build a better AI future for all.

We’re building a new generation using AI for Good.

We’re growing fast. Our first Futurekind fellowship cohort took place in early 2025 uniting 120 fellows across 14 timezones in AI for good. At the same time we launched our first Bay Area Code for Compassion, where 81 coders developed 16 animal advocacy AI prototypes.

Since then we've been developing our work with a focus on supporting the builders, thinkers and workers of a new global generation of AI for good. We know that it’s not only in Silicon Valley or Europe where AI for good happens. We scour the world for the doers and achievers, those whose talents can support the causes we care about. Our courses and hackathons diversify the often staid monocultures of AI development and AI safety, across Asia, South America and beyond.

We’re scaling Futurekind rapidly, running Code for Compassions all over the world, from Bangalore to Singapore, right back to DC, and taking our research into our most influential institutions — all the while laser-focussed on our vision of a better AI future for all.

Building a better AI Future

Our imminent future programs include an impact investment-focused Campus program for fellows and coders to off-ramp and develop promising, highly impactful prototypes to enterprise-level applications, and initiatives based around the idea of ahimsa that animates so much of our work - Ahimsa Labs.
