Futurekind is where AI meets positive impact and global flourishing - for you and for thousands of learners all over the world who form the Futurekind community.
Futurekind is Electric Sheep’s free, online-first, entry-level-to- intermediate, expert-mentored group-learning course. It focusses specifically on the intersection of AI, ecosystem and animal protection, introducing participants to ideas and tools from tech, ethics and policy that will help make AI go well.
It's twelve weeks of mentored learning in a challenging, encouraging online environment, developing know-how, researching and learning to build AI that supports planetary welfare and compassion. Weekly resources are discussed in curated, mentored, blended online learning groups that include coders, researchers, enthusiasts and social entrepreneurs from all over the world, all committed to making a difference.
Absolutely no coding experience is required, just a desire and curiosity to use AI intentionally and safely to make real positive impact for our planet and its sentient life.
We currently run Futurekind in two cohorts: Spring and Fall. We get interest and applications to these programs in the thousands and are able to currently offer around 1 in 10 applicants a place, so getting your thoughts on why you’d like to be part of the Futurekind community is key to getting on board.

As part of Futurekind you'll experience:
🎓 The Learning Block (weeks 1-6):
Survey current & emerging AI applications with significant implications for animals, ecosystems and planet, such as decoding animal communication
Gain access to powerful AI tools for animal and environmental impact advocacy
Explore impactful career pathways at the AI/animals frontier
🏗️ The Project Block (weeks 7-12):
Transition from learners to doers
Prepare a final work drawing on what you have learned during the course: a concrete contribution to animal welfare & protection
