The ARCC team in Mumbai for AI Demo Day, organized by the Upadhyay Foundation and Code for Compassion, a joint initiative by Electric Sheep and Open Paws.A month-long intensive where some of the most driven builders in animal advocacy came together to do what so many said couldn't be done: build real, scalable technology for the animals, and be their support in this tough world. The teams were chosen from hackathons held across cities like San Francisco, Berlin, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Each one arrived with a shared conviction and a single mission, to build tools that change the world for animals.
On the final day of ARCC 7/March/2026, the camp culminated in Mumbai with AI Demo Day, organized by the Upadhyay Foundation and Code for Compassion, a joint initiative by Electric Sheep and Open Paws. The event’s theme, AI for Animal Welfare: From Compassion to Action, set the stage for an inspiring showcase.
Teams presented their ideas to NGOs, philanthropists, and investors deeply involved in animal advocacy. Projects were pitched, connections were made, and new opportunities opened.

At What Cost
Team members: Mason Stahl, Arda Enfiyeci, Alisha Vavilakolanu
Team Lead Email: masonstahl50@gmail.com
Corporate accountability watchdog with semantic search for broken promises.
At What Cost tracks corporate promises and makes them impossible to quietly abandon. Using semantic search, it surfaces broken commitments instantly, even years later - and makes them politically useful at the right moment. Instead of relying on institutional memory, we create searchable accountability infrastructure.
It connects directly to the strongest validated use case in Open Paws user research: corporate intelligence. With 350+ Open Paws users across six tools - and corporate research as the most popular application -this project sits squarely in proven demand.
Feeb
Team members: Alexander Kok, Frederik Vercammen
Team Lead Email: alexandermkok@proton.me
Restaurant menu software nudging plant-based choices.
Feeb is live in one restaurant, with a 20-restaurant pilot planned in Antwerp, and recently won the C4C Berlin Hackathon. It’s menu infrastructure that subtly shifts demand toward plant-based options.
The strategy is an infrastructure capture flywheel: restaurants adopt → menus shift → consumer data flows → more restaurants follow. We control what appears on menus; the app is just distribution.
AVO
Team members: Joaquin Gallo, Selena Guardia
Team Lead Email: joaquingalloux@gmail.com
Duolingo for veganism: gamified education with AI-driven personalization.
AVO personalizes vegan education based on where someone is in their journey, adapting content dynamically through AI. It integrates naturally into Veggie Challenge programs, where organizations often struggle to provide enough mentors - AVO becomes that mentor at scale.
With an existing contract and data-sharing agreement with Open Paws, AVO positions itself as the education layer of the broader infrastructure. Its aggregated learning data becomes movement-wide insight into what messaging and interventions actually work.
VERDE
Team members: Sucharita Chattopadhyay, Sahil Kumar Sahu
Team Lead Email: sucharita.chatterjee100@gmail.com
AI-driven menu transformation for cafés plus built-in marketing agent.
VERDE complements Feeb rather than competing with it. If Feeb changes what’s on the menu, VERDE fills the seats.
It helps cafés redesign menus for higher-margin plant-based offerings and pairs that with an AI marketing agent - crucial for small cafés that typically lack any marketing capacity. Menu optimization plus demand generation makes the shift economically sustainable.
OffRamp
Team members: Sandesh Dawkhar, Prasad Kanchar, Anshuman Singh
Team Lead Email: sandeshdawkhar13@gmail.com
Culturally relevant meat alternatives powered by AI.
The global vegan movement has a cultural imperialism problem. OffRamp addresses it by prioritizing culturally native swaps - soya chunks instead of Beyond Burgers.
The product flow is coherent and layered: onboarding → culturally-native swap engine → coaching → delivery integration. The strength isn’t just one feature - it’s the integrated system that makes culturally relevant plant-based transitions feel natural and accessible.
Good Growth
Team members: Shanil Wijesinghe, Abby McElhatton
Team Lead Email: shanilwijesinghe@gmail.com
Centralized database of farmed animal welfare data by country.
Funders allocated hundreds of millions last year without a centralized database showing where the need is greatest. Animal Welfare Country Profiles fills that gap.
It makes allocation smarter by surfacing disparities, for example, countries with zero legislation and minimal funding. As a Good Growth spinout, it carries institutional credibility while solving a fundamental coordination problem.
VFelt
Team members: Ryan Bijoy
Team Lead Email: ryanbijoy2727@gmail.com
Rescue triage WhatsApp bot for animal cruelty case management.
Imagine a rescue group receiving 50 reports in a week and three are emergencies. Without VFelt, they all get the same response time.
VFelt triages cases via WhatsApp, meeting rescue groups where they already operate — and layers in workflow management that makes it sticky beyond initial triage. It’s not just prioritization; it’s operational infrastructure for overwhelmed rescue teams.
WoofTalk
Team members: Anirudh Badri
Team Lead Email: Anirudh.badri@gmail.com
AI-driven dog behavioral assessment with a long-term human–dog communication vision.
WoofTalk begins with a practical, high-value Phase 1: AI-powered behavioral assessment and aggression detection for shelters. That alone improves adoption outcomes and safety.
The long-term moonshot, deeper human-dog communication is grounded in a credible near-term deliverable. Even without the full communication thesis, the Phase 1 product stands on its own.
Sentilabs
Team members: Shreesh Pandey
Team Lead Email: shreeshpandey2026@gmail.com
AI tools for undercover animal investigators.
Sentilabs multiplies investigative capacity. For funders: one investigator, 10× the output. For investigation organizations: operational security first.
It provides tools like safe backstory generation, farm identification, route planning, and high-impact image scanning from camera rolls, the killer feature for rapid evidence triage. Details remain tightly controlled; operational security is central to the pitch.
OpenPermit
Team members: Abid Khan
Team Lead Email: abid@openpaws.ai
AI-powered factory farm permit tracking and large-scale community objections.
Factory farms hire lawyers. Communities get a 30-day comment period and no support. OpenPermit corrects the asymmetry.
It detects new permit applications, generates unique AI-written objections (never dismissible as form letters), and streamlines submission at scale. The project originated from an Open Paws partner organization, with Abid already on the Open Paws dev team, embedding it directly within the ecosystem.
