Electric Sheep Launches Futurekind AI-for-Impact Fellowship: Pioneering Global Initiative Unites 120 Participants for safe, compassionate AI
London, 1st May 2025
For Immediate Release
Pioneer AI education start-up Electric Sheep today launched Futurekind, its global fellowship of AI for planetary good. Over the next 12 weeks, 112 fellows coordinated by 8 thought-leading associates across 14 time zones will drive tech transformation for animal protection, food system transformation and global impact.
Spanning continents and disciplines, the inaugural fellowship has attracted an extraordinary range of participants—from AI governance researchers and software engineers to comparative neuroanatomists, philosophers, and grassroots animal advocates.
Guided by top-tier associates including Open Paws founder Sam Tucker-Davis, animal protection strategist Dr. Bárbara Buril and alt-protein commercialization expert Matt Tom, Futurekind represents a strategic response to the rapidly expanding frontier where technology meets planetary and species protection - and ensuring AI works for good not ill.
Participants will gain fluency in the latest AI tools, survey real-world developments - from factory farming optimization to superintelligent AI and sentience studies, to decoding interspecies communication - and prototype solutions with direct impact on our planet and its inhabitants.
Commenting, Futurekind fellow and philosophy PhD candidate Joshua Jarvis-Campbell said, “I really like the diversity of skills and interests. I’ve been very impressed with the project ideas suggested so far. I'm excited for what's to come!”
Electric Sheep CEO Ash Singh said, “Futurekind is a new approach to AI education based on deep market research of the AI generation: gen Z. The reality is that most current AI learning is out of date before it hits the shelf. Futurekind’s approach is genuinely multidisciplinary, bringing together whizz-kid coders, philosophers and activists to collectively answer: what kind of AI future do we all want to build, together? With the quality of our participants and associates I’m excited to report that the real AI generation’s answer to this question is clear: it includes care and compassion for our planet and all its inhabitants.”
