Electric Sheep to partner with Apart Research to turbocharge the AI safety movement in the Global South.

We’re excited to announce that we at Electric Sheep are working with pioneering AI safety org Apart Research to deliver the Global South AI Safety Hackathon and boost the development of practical AI safety solutions across the Global South.

The event, a global first, will take place in India at Electric Sheep’s bespoke campus in Bengaluru as well as simultaneously at venues all over Asia. The initiative has been generously supported by Schmidt Sciences.

Two winning teams across Asia will each receive $1,000 USD.

Commenting, Ash Singh, Electric Sheep CEO said, “This is a unique opportunity for AI safety researchers, ML engineers, policy researchers, security experts, and students to come together, form teams, and build real-world solutions. It's time to get Asia’s talented AI community who are impact-driven and outcome-focused working on AI safety.”

Top projects will be reviewed by expert judges from AI safety organizations, universities, and policy institutions.
